
District level training programme organised for TB screening and treatment of children under TB Free India Campaign
Hoshiarpur- As per the guidelines of Health Department Punjab and Civil Surgeon Dr. Pawan Kumar Shagotra, District TB Centre Hoshiarpur in collaboration with World Health Partners (WHP) and partner NGOs organised District Training Programme for TB screening and treatment of children under TB Free India Campaign.
Hoshiarpur- As per the guidelines of Health Department Punjab and Civil Surgeon Dr. Pawan Kumar Shagotra, District TB Centre Hoshiarpur in collaboration with World Health Partners (WHP) and partner NGOs organised District Training Programme for TB screening and treatment of children under TB Free India Campaign.
It was attended by one staff nurse and TB officer from each sub-divisional hospital and CHC of district Hoshiarpur. TB is one of the most important public health challenges. It is a big challenge especially for children as it is often not detected early or is detected very late. The aim of this training programme is to enhance the knowledge and skills of health professionals in diagnosis, treatment and management of pediatric TB in children in the age group of 0-14 years.
In this training programme, District TB Officer Dr. Shakti Sharma and Pediatrician Dr. Rajwant Kaur played the role of main trainers. They emphasized on early diagnosis and treatment of TB in children. Participants who attended the training program were briefed on how to perform Gastric Aspirate (GA), Gastric Lavage (GL) and Inspiratory Sputum (IS) procedure in children in the age group of 0-14 years as per Pediatric TB guidelines.
This training was attended by Mrs. Hardeep Kaur State Nurse Mentor, World Health Partners and Mrs. Sukhwinder Kaur MPH W Women Government Nursing College. For successful completion of this training, Mr. Gurmeet Singh District Project Manager World Health Partners Hoshiarpur and his team Mr. Harjeet Singh, Mr. Deepak Prajapati and Mrs. Baljeet Kaur thanked Civil Surgeon Sahib, District TB Officer Dr. Shakti Sharma, doctors of Pediatrics department.
