Hoshiarpur: Under the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police Sandeep Kumar Malik, the police took swift action in the firing and assault incident in Dhada Khurd village, arrested many accused and seized weapons and vehicles.
According to the information received, on September 12, 2025, at around 5.30 pm, Jatinder Singh alias Sonu Bhalwan, a resident of village Cheta, arrived in Mahindra Thar and Swift cars with his associates outside the house of Parminder Singh alias Pindri. The said person was holding a khanda, gandasa and kirpan in his hands. It is alleged that after vandalizing the house, he took out a pistol and opened fire. During this, Parminder Singh's relative Didar Singh was also shot.
After the incident, Mahilpur police started the operation and arrested Harvinder Singh alias Monu on September 14. After that, Jatinder Singh alias Sonu Bhalwan and Davinder Singh alias Bindi were taken into custody on September 20, Manjit Singh and Bhupinder Singh alias Bhinda on September 21. Sarabjit Singh alias Sabi was arrested on September 27 and a Glock pistol and a Fortuner vehicle were recovered from his possession.
The police have recovered a total of 32 bore country-made pistols, Mahindra Thar, Swift cars and vehicles including Glock pistols in this case. Police officials said that the interrogation of the accused is ongoing and legal action is taking place.
