SAS Nagar, September 23- Punjab Agri Export Corporation organized a district level training and awareness camp at village Nangal Badian of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar. During which S. Amrit Singh Chahal, Wahegurupura Natural Farm, District Barnala participated as the main speaker and shared his views on various methods and marketing of organic farming.
District Supervisor Satwinder Singh Panty said that since 2015, Punjab Agro has been providing free registration, group certification, equipment for making bio fertilizers, Pyo fertilizers, etc. to farmers practicing organic farming in Punjab, under which about 125 farmers and 300 acres of land have been registered in the district.
Agricultural Development Officer Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Agricultural Development Officer Navdeep Kaur and Sukhjinder Kaur (Atma) told that it is very important for human health to consume a balanced diet which is rich in vitamins, proteins, minerals and other nutrients. Vegetables should be included in our daily diet. For which organic farming is a good option.
Meanwhile, Jaspal Singh (Executive) also shared in detail with the farmers the method of preparing various types of substances required for pest management, control of insects through organic methods and information regarding trainings was given to the farmers. Vivekdeep Singh (Executive) informed the farmers about the registration process of organic farming.
On this occasion, leading organic farmers of the district, Yadwinder Singh, Davinder Singh, Harmandeep Singh Gill, Dharam Singh Gill, Jagdeep Singh, Guriqbal Singh etc. advised the farmers to use organic products prepared at home instead of chemical medicines and to sell their products directly to the consumers at the Chandigarh Organic Market held every Saturday at the office of Punjab Agro Industries Corporation.
