Floods: Every sixth patient suffers from skin disease.

Chandigarh:- In the flood-hit villages of Punjab, now every sixth patient is suffering from skin disease. These facts have emerged from the trend of the first three days of patients reaching the special medical relief camps set up by the Punjab government in the flood-affected areas.

Late this evening, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has issued special instructions to the Health Department in view of this trend. Today, he also continued the series of meetings with senior officers to deal with diseases in the flood-affected areas.
According to the details, 2101 villages of Punjab have been covered with special medical camps. Now that the flood water has receded in the villages, people have started coming to these camps for examination.
During the three days from September 14 to today, 1,42,395 patients from the flood-affected villages have been examined, out of which the maximum number of patients suffering from skin disease are in front. According to the data, 22,118 patients were found suffering from skin diseases in three days.
The highest number of patients with skin diseases have come forward and seeing this trend, the Health Department has increased the stock of medicines. Fever cases have emerged at the second number.
19,187 patients with fever have been detected in three days. Similarly, 4544 patients suffering from diarrhea have come forward. Eye infections have increased significantly, as a result of which 10,304 patients have been found suffering from eye infections.
If we look, out of a total of 1.42 lakh patients, the maximum number of patients with fever and skin diseases have been identified, 41,305. After this trend came to light, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has appealed to the people that whenever they see symptoms of fever, skin or any kind of disease, they should immediately reach the medical relief camps set up by the Punjab government and get tested so that the spread of any kind of disease can be prevented.
