Chandigarh:- A cloudburst caused massive destruction in the Sahasradhara area of ??Dehradun late on Monday night. The sudden flood has caused water level in the Tamsa river to rise. Several vehicles were swept away in the fast flowing water and two people went missing.

Considering the situation, the administration has ordered the closure of all schools in the district till class 12.
Due to heavy rain, the Tapkeshwar Mahadev temple was completely submerged in the flood. According to the temple priest, the water level in the river rose at around 5 am, due to which the entire temple was submerged and many idols were washed away. However, the sanctum sanctorum is safe, but after the water receded, about two feet of debris was found in the temple complex.
The water level in the Chandrabhaga river in Rishikesh has been rising since Tuesday morning. At this time, the water reached the highway, which has affected traffic. The SDRF team safely rescued three people trapped in the river. According to the team, many vehicles are still stuck in the water.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami posted on X, saying, "Sad news has been received about the damage to shops due to heavy rain in Sahasradhara, Dehradun. District administration, SDRF and police teams have reached the spot and are conducting relief and rescue operations." He said, "I am in constant touch with the administrative officials and am personally monitoring the situation, I pray to God for the safety of everyone."
