The court has ordered Kangana to appear soon. According to information, the next hearing of the case will be on September 29.
Kangana Ranaut had made derogatory comments by calling Mahinder Kaur, an elderly farmer of Bahadurgarh Jandian village, who was involved in the farmers' movement, the grandmother of Shaheen Bagh. After this, Mahinder Kaur filed a defamation case in the Bathinda court. Lawyer Raghuveer said that he will soon file an application in the court, demanding that Kangana Ranaut be stopped from going abroad.
The move is aimed at ensuring that she does not escape the legal process. It is worth noting that Kangana had earlier filed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking quashing of the case of derogatory remarks against farmer Mahinder Kaur. She then appealed to the Supreme Court. But she did not get any relief anywhere. The Supreme Court rejected her petition.
