
Two-day district level training camp on child mortality review begins
Hoshiarpur- As per the guidelines of Health Department Punjab, Civil Surgeon Dr. Pawan Kumar Shagotra ji chaired the training of senior medical officers and medical officers on child mortality review in the training hall of Civil Surgeon Office Hoshiarpur under the guidance of District Immunization Officer Dr. Seema Garg.
Hoshiarpur- As per the guidelines of Health Department Punjab, Civil Surgeon Dr. Pawan Kumar Shagotra ji chaired the training of senior medical officers and medical officers on child mortality review in the training hall of Civil Surgeon Office Hoshiarpur under the guidance of District Immunization Officer Dr. Seema Garg.
During this, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Kamlesh Kumari, Pediatrician Dr. Harnoorjit Kaur, DPM Mr. Mohammad Asif and Mrs. Anuradha Thakur were also present. Speaking on the occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr. Pawan Kumar said that the two-day training has been started with the aim of reducing the mortality rate of children up to five years.
He said that the infant mortality rate is reviewed with the aim of finding out the causes of death of every child from zero to five years and eliminating them. He asked all the senior medical officers to appoint a nodal officer to review the deaths of children at the block level so that the causes of death of children can be identified in time and the deficiencies can be diagnosed at the institutional level. District Immunization Officer Dr. Seema Garg said that reducing child mortality is a main goal of the National Mission, it is possible to prevent most of the child deaths in the country, for which the Health Department has created a mechanism to review child deaths.
Under which the mortality rate of every child is reported and corrective action is taken by investigating the causes of death. Whatever reasons come to light after death, efforts are made to make positive and qualitative improvements in the health system by removing them.
Dr. Harnoorjit Kaur gave information about children's diseases, danger signs, symptoms, causes and prevention. She gave information about the care of children immediately after birth, measures taken for the diagnosis of child deaths and reporting done through nodal officers.
