Saksham Vashisht of Hoshiarpur created history by securing first position in CAG's national examination.

Hoshiarpur- 20-year-old Saksham Vashisht of Hoshiarpur has secured first position in the whole of India by securing 96 percent marks in the level-1 examination of the certificate course for Panchayat and Municipal Accountants. This is the highest ever marks obtained by the youngest student in this examination.

This is the highest ever marks obtained by the youngest student in this examination. People between the age of 18 to 60 years participate in this examination. There is an atmosphere of happiness not only in the college but in the whole of Punjab due to his unique achievement.
It is noteworthy that Saksham Vashisht had passed the sixth semester examination of B.Com (Hons) from Government College Hoshiarpur at the age of just 19 with 90 percent marks and also got ranking in Punjab University.
This examination is conducted by the Local Body Accountants Certification Board, ICAI. Accounting Research Foundation. It is conducted under the aegis of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). This is the first time that a student from Punjab has secured the first position in the Level-1 examination in the entire country. The North Zone Center for this examination was set up in Chandigarh and the examination was held on 9 January 2025. Students from all over the country participated in this difficult examination, but Saksham Vashisht achieved this honor by securing the highest marks with his hard work and excellent knowledge.
Earlier, Saksham also topped India with 92 percent marks in the entrance-cum-screening examination of the certificate course for accountants of Panchayat and Municipal bodies held on 9 August 2024. Saksham Vashisht is currently doing articleship after passing CA Inter. By performing brilliantly in this exam, he has proved that with hard work and effort in the right direction, anyone can achieve success.
He is the son of Rajiv Vashisht, Founder Chairman of RTI Awareness Forum Punjab and Sakshi Vashisht. On this achievement of Saksham, his grandmother Shaman Vashisht and the entire Vashisht family have expressed their gratitude to teacher Mohit Mohan. Talking about his success, Saksham Vashisht said that the credit for his achievement goes to his teacher and mentor Mohit Mohan and his parents.
Saksham said that his teacher Mohit Mohan with his deep understanding, enthusiasm and proper guidance not only guided him in the preparation of this difficult exam, but also taught him confidence and patience. Saksham said that he will continue to move towards his goal with determination and will try to achieve similar success in the Chartered Accountancy exam.
Saksham's family, teachers and colleagues have congratulated him on this unique achievement. His mentor teacher Mohit Mohan has also described this success as a proud moment for the institution. He said that this success is not only the personal achievement of Saksham Vashisht but is also inspirational for the students of entire Punjab.
