Patiala 15 September: The Class Four Government Employees Union Punjab (1680) presented a memorandum of demands of the fourth grade employees, contract, outsource and anti-larvae workers in the health department. After reaching the office of the Health Minister in a protest rally outside the Government Mata Kushalya Hospital, a memorandum of long-pending demands was submitted to the Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh Ji.
Employee leaders Darshan Singh Lubana, Jagmohan Nolakha, Shiv Charan, while addressing the rally said that since the Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh took charge of the health department, the employees, paramedical and fourth grade employees in the health department have been continuously submitting their demands through stage-by-stage demonstrations.
But the demands have not been resolved through talks by the Health Minister's Office nor by the officials in the concerned Health Department, thus no relief has been given to the employees, contract, outsourced employees working in the Health and Family Welfare, Medical Research and Education and Ayurvedic Departments at any level.
The bureaucratic employees in the department, the employee leaders have been transferred with a spirit of revenge, including the transfer of the fourth grade employee leader Mr. Ram Prasad from Ferozepur to Abohar and Ranjit Singh. The demand letter has been given to the Health Minister.
This also includes the demands of ASHA workers, fourth grade employees, contract / outsourced, sanitation workers, attendants, technical and anti-larva workers. Why are the anti-larva workers being continuously exploited by the government and the department. Low salaries are being paid and continuous looting is being done.
There is a huge corruption in this. A demand has also been made to stop the harassment done to them and it has been strongly demanded that the workers in the anti-larva should be given work for the whole year, they should be fired every year and the harassment should be stopped. It was announced in the rally that if these workers are fired, then these workers along with their families will start dharna/rallies in front of the residence of the Health Minister for an indefinite period.
Other leaders who were present in the rally were Sarv Sri Rajesh Kumar, Ram Kainash, Sunita, Tarlochan Maru, Tarlochan Mandoli, Dharmendra, Amar Nath, Swaran Singh, Rupinder, Harpreet Singh, Balbir Singh, Satwinder Singh, Baldev Singh, Harcharan Singh Muktsar, Dharmendra, Hardeep Singh, Kuljit Singh Fatehgarh etc. were present.
