Reuters - Several people, including a parish priest, were injured in an attack on the Holy Family Church in northern Gaza on Thursday morning, Catholic Church officials said. The parish priest, Father Gabriel Romanelli, was very close to the late Pope Francis and the two spoke frequently during the war in Gaza.
The attack caused significant damage to the church, which witnesses said appeared to have been hit by Israeli tank fire. The Israeli military did not immediately comment on the attack. Pope Francis often calls the only Catholic church in the Gaza Strip.
