Chandigarh, August 31- National Sports Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Haryana to commemorate the birth anniversary of Hockey Magician Major Dhyan Chand. During the three-day program organized from 29 to 31 August, various sports activities were organized across the state. The state-level closing ceremony was held in Kurukshetra.
It was presided over by Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini. On this occasion, cabinet ministers and MLAs reached the programs organized in different districts and encouraged the players and participants and inspired them towards sports.
The Sports Department organized motivational activities like cyclothon on the theme 'Khel Yukt - Nasha Mukt Haryana' and gave the message of adopting a healthy lifestyle to the youth and players. A large number of school children, players and sports lovers participated enthusiastically in these events.
