Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, August 28: MLA Rajpura Mrs. Neena Mittal said here today that after getting eight villages adjoining Banur area Rajpura (Patiala) included in Revenue District Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, now her next effort will be to connect Banur area adjoining Patiala Police with Mohali Police.
MLA Rajpura Mrs. Mittal, who reached the Deputy Commissioner's Office Mohali today, said that Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann has given a big relief to the people by including these eight villages of Mohali district falling in Rajpura assembly constituency in Revenue District Mohali.
He said that today he held a detailed meeting with Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal and the district administration officials to complete the ongoing process of transferring the revenue records of these eight villages from Patiala to Mohali and to reconstitute the Patwar Circles and Kanugoi of Banur at the earliest. He said that Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal has assured to complete the process of reconstituting the Patwar Circles and Kanugoi required to complete the process of transferring the revenue records at the earliest. In the meeting, discussions were held on the division of 40 villages and 13 urban wards of Banur into 14 Patwar Circles and 2 Kanugoi.
He said on this occasion that efforts are being made by him at the Chief Minister level and DGP level to give Banur the status of Revenue Sub-Division and Police Sub-Division so that the people of the area do not have to go far for administrative work.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Geetika Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Sonam Chaudhary, SDM Mohali Damandeep Kaur, District Revenue Officer Dr. Harminder Singh Hundal, Naib Tehsildar Harjot Singh, DSM Navneet Kaur and other officers were present in the meeting.
