Nawanshahr, September 16- A meeting of Kirti Kisan Union District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Committee was held in Dana Mandi Nawanshahr. During the meeting, District President Surinder Singh Bains and District Secretary Tarsem Singh Bains said that the District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police of Sangrur did not jail the Lathmar who attacked Kirti Kisan Union Sangrur leader Nirbhay Singh Khai, but helped in getting bail for some goons of the government-backed gang who forcibly occupied the lands.
Last month, the United Kisan Morcha held a big rally in Sangrur Dana Mandi and raised a strong voice for jailing the Lathmar who attacked Nirbhay Singh Khai. The Kirti Kisan Union State Committee will hold a Punjab-wide rally in Sangrur on September 25 to put the goons who attacked Nirbhay Singh Khai in jail and to get justice for Nirbhay Singh Khai. A large number of farmers from Nawanshahr district will join in buses and cars.
During the floods, lakhs of acres of crops were destroyed, lakhs of cattle died, hundreds of human lives were lost, but the Central and Punjab governments have not provided any help to the affected families, they are limited to mere promises. The government, which used to announce compensation for chickens and goats, has not yet received any relief for the flood victims. All the people will have to prepare for a strong struggle to get due compensation for the loss of life and property due to the floods.
