Bangana, 2 September- Deputy Commissioner Una Jatin Lal on Tuesday visited village Giod of Gram Panchayat Thada of Sub-Division Bangana and inspected the damage caused by heavy rain and landslide on the spot. During this, SDM Bangana Sonu Goyal, Naib Tehsildar Balwinder Singh and officers of the concerned departments were present with him.
The DC met the affected families and consoled them and assured them that the district administration stands with them at every step. He said that no shortage of relief and assistance will be allowed.
The administration showed promptness on the spot and provided immediate relief of Rs 10,000 each to three affected families. The Deputy Commissioner said that further help will be given as per the relief manual.
Due to continuous rain, three houses in Giod village have been damaged and a hill slope has also slipped. Considering the situation serious, the administration has evacuated 12 other houses as a precautionary measure.
The Deputy Commissioner directed SDM Bangana to ensure proper arrangements for safe stay and relief management for the affected families. He said that compensation for the damage caused by rain and restoration work will be done on priority basis.
