Patiala, February 28 - Rajya Sabha Member from Punjab "Padma Shri" Vikramjit Singh Sahni was awarded Doctorate degree by Governor of Punjab Shri Banwari Lal Purohit on the occasion of 40th convocation of Punjabi University, Patiala. Expressing gratitude on the occasion, Mr. Sahni said, "It is a very emotional moment for me to receive such a prestigious honor from the same institution where I studied." In his address, the Governor congratulated Mr. Sahni for his outstanding achievements for which he was awarded the "Padma Shri" by the President of India.
Prof Arvind, Vice Chancellor of Punjabi University, appreciated Mr. Sahni's social entrepreneurship, skill development and employment, youth and women empowerment as well as being a corona warrior including rescue and rehabilitation of Afghan refugees as well as their social welfare efforts. While appreciating the excellent contribution made in various fields, he said that the Rajya Sabha member has played an important role in stopping human trafficking. It may be mentioned that Vikramjit Singh Sahni's tireless dedication and outstanding achievements have not only made efforts to make Punjab prosperous, but he is also acting as a source of inspiration across the country. Their commitment to fostering community and promoting positive change continues unabated.
