
Rajnath reviews security situation in Jammu and Kashmir
Jammu, June 21 - Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was today briefed by top Army officials about the current security situation in Jammu and Kashmir. The officials said that the meeting focused on counter-terrorism operations in border areas and the yatra starting next month.

They said that Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, GOC Northern Command Lieutenant General Prateek Sharma and other senior officers including commanding officers of all units were present at the meeting at the Northern Command headquarters in Udhampur. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reached the Northern Command headquarters in Udhampur on a two-day visit on Friday and this morning led the International Yoga Day celebrations celebrated by the armed forces and performed yoga asanas with 2,500 soldiers.
Officials said that after the yoga session, top Army officials briefed the Defence Minister about the security situation in the Union Territory. The meeting focused on terrorist operations in forest areas.
