41900 online fraud committed before the credit card reaches the consumer.

Fraudsters are using voice-over-internet technology to gain access to credit card numbers or bank account information through phone calls.

Mandeep Kumar, a resident of Ghanaur Ward No. 1, said that he belongs to a poor family and works with a hairdresser in Ghanaur. He said that he had ordered a credit card from a private bank which reached him through post on September 16. Mandeep Kumar says that when he tried to use the card on September 19, he found that there was only Rs 100 balance in the card and Rs 41,900 had been transferred to a firm named Detadion last month (August 25). Mandeep says that money had been withdrawn from the card even before he received the card, which he has filed a complaint with the cyber crime department.
In this regard, Manish Kumar, Sub-Manager of Ghanaur Bank, said that Mandeep Kumar has shared his basic information with online fraudsters and did not apply for any credit card from the Ghanaur branch, but Mandeep himself had ordered the card online which was already activated and the fraud that has happened to them has also happened online in which the bank has no responsibility.
