If proper first aid is not given immediately on the spot, then after some time the person can get rabies. There is no cure for rabies. Due to this, every year lakhs of victims die due to rabies in India.
People, children and young people with rabies are often afraid of water, which is called hydrophobia. Even the voice of such people changes and they bark like a dog. They chew their hands, feet, clothes or nearby things with their teeth. They cannot be rendered unconscious by any medicine. They often die in a few days after suffering agonizingly. The farther the wound from the victim's brain is from the wound where the animal bit him, the longer it takes for the rabies venom to reach the brain.
Therefore, it is very important that whenever a dog, cat, monkey, fox, wild, domestic or stray animal bites someone, if the bite or saliva from the animal's mouth gets on the affected area, wash that area thoroughly with clean running water and soap 10 times. But do not touch the wound or soapy water with your hands. Do not bandage the wound. Do not apply chillies or any medicine there.
Take such victims to the hospitals or dispensaries as soon as possible. Do not get treatment from any Baba or wise man or medicine seller. After listening to the whole story from the doctor, it is advised to give the victims an injection. The animal should be kept tied up for ten days, if it dies within a few days, it may have been killed.
Dig a hole in such dead animals and pour salt and pesticides on their bodies. If it is thrown in public places, flies, insects and animals can eat it. As per the doctor's advice, the injections should be given on the day when they are supposed to be given. Otherwise, consider that you are preparing your beloved one for death.
People who have dogs, cats, monkeys or animals should also get their animals injected after a year, as per the advice of veterinarians. Children should be kept away from dogs, monkeys, cats or animals.
The activities of pets and animals roaming in the streets, neighborhoods, hotels, dhabas, markets should be kept under close watch. Such animals bark and bite without reason, they keep spitting out their mouths, they are afraid of water and light. Their faces look scary. They chew on nearby things with their teeth.
When small children play in the streets, neighborhood parks or go to or return from school, they must have a young or mature person with them, and that person must have a stick or hockey stick or sticks. So if any animal or dog attacks, it should be removed. Earlier, 12 injections to prevent rabies were given in the stomach, but now 4/5 injections are given in the muscles.
