Nawanshahr 25 February- 2018 batch IAS officer Ankurjit Singh took over as Deputy Commissioner in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar today. Prior to this, he was working as Chief Administrator of Jalandhar Development Authority (JDA) and Amritsar Development Authority (ADA). Apart from this, he has also given excellent services as Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) of Pathankot, Commissioner Municipal Corporation of Pathankot and SDM Dudhan Sadh and Patara in Patiala district.
Ankurjit Singh, who holds a B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering from IIT Roorkee, while talking to the media after assuming charge, said that his main priority would be to solve the problems of the people of this district associated with Shaheed-e-Azam S. Bhagat Singh together as a team, provide transparent administration, make the benefits of government schemes reach them and take the district to new heights in every field by implementing development works.
He said that the campaign launched by the Punjab government against drug abuse will be successful with everyone's cooperation and no stone will be left unturned to connect the youth with education and sports for a healthy Punjab. Earlier, on reaching the district administrative complex, he was given a splendid guard of honour by the district police contingent. During this, his wife Gurpreet Kaur and son Sahaj were also with him. Those who welcomed him on this occasion included Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Rajiv Verma, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Avneet Kaur, SDM Nawanshahr Dr. Akshita Gupta, SDM Balachaur Ravinder Bansal, Assistant Commissioner (Under Training) Jagdeep Singh, District Revenue Officer Mandeep Singh Mann, DDPO Nidhi Sinha and other officers and employees.
