Chandigarh, September 8 - Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that recently the state government had provided financial assistance of Rs 5 crore each to the flood victims in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab. In the same series, in view of the heavy rains and flood damage in Himachal Pradesh today, the Haryana government has sent an assistance of Rs 5 crore to the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister's Relief Fund.

Chandigarh, September 8 - Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that recently the state government had provided financial assistance of Rs 5 crore each to the flood victims in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab. In the same series, in view of the heavy rains and flood damage in Himachal Pradesh today, the Haryana government has sent an assistance of Rs 5 crore to the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
The Chief Minister said this while talking to the media after the informal meeting of the Cabinet today.
He said that all the ministers, party MLAs and supported MLAs were appealed to donate one month's salary to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund so that immediate relief can be provided to the families while giving impetus to the rescue and rehabilitation works.
Along with this, all the officers and employees of the state of Haryana were appealed to help the Chief Minister's Relief Fund as per their wish.
Along with this, social organizations and industrial establishments have also been appealed for help so that timely help can be provided to the affected people.

*Relief fund is open to all, everyone can contribute
On a question asked regarding the appeal to contribute to the relief fund from the opposition, the Chief Minister said that the Chief Minister's Relief Fund is open to all and anyone can contribute as per their wish.

*It is our duty to perform neighborly duties, Haryana government fully stands with Punjab - Naib Singh Saini
On a question asked regarding the proposed visit of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to Punjab tomorrow, Shri Naib Singh Saini said that it is our duty to perform neighborly duties. He said that he met Punjab Chief Minister Shri Bhagwant Mann today and inquired about his health and also sought information about the natural disaster that has befallen Punjab. Mr. Saini said that the Haryana government and the party are continuously sending help and relief materials to Punjab and have also asked for more help. He said that Punjab is our brother and the Haryana government stands completely with Punjab.

*Prime Minister Narendra Modi among the people, Congress' crown prince abroad
Reacting to the visit of the opposition to the flood-affected areas, the Chief Minister said that it is a good thing that the leader of the opposition has come out, otherwise earlier he used to fulfill his responsibility only by tweeting. He said that whenever the country faces a crisis, the Congress crown prince goes abroad. On the contrary, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, whenever a natural crisis occurs anywhere, cancels his programs and reaches directly among the people. He is the first such Prime Minister who is among the people in the hour of crisis.
On being asked about the damage to the crops of the farmers, the Chief Minister said that the farmers are continuously registering on the e-compensation portal. He has personally gone to the field and assessed the damage to the crops. He said that Rs 88.50 crore was released as compensation to the farmers a month ago. In this hour of crisis, the Haryana government is standing shoulder to shoulder with the people.
