Officials said that the dead body of Shaheed Pradeep Singh, who was a part of the Kokarnag operation, was found around 5 pm last evening. Indian Army jawan Pradeep Singh was a resident of Patiala. The Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police are still conducting a search operation in the dense forests of the area. He went missing during this operation. Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha paid tribute to the martyred soldier Pradeep Singh in the Gadol Kokernag encounter. He offered floral garlands on the dead body of the martyr at the memorial service held at the Chinar Corps Headquarters complex. The dead body of Shaheed Pradeep Singh, wrapped in the tricolor, has been sent to his family in Punjab with full military honours. The martyred jawan will be cremated at his native village Patiala by 1 pm. Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, Chinar Corps Commander Lt. Gen. Rajeev Ghai and senior officers of civil, military and police administration paid tribute to the martyred jawan in an emotional farewell ceremony. In the operation against the terrorists operating in the forests of Anantnag, the security forces today recovered some weapons from the terrorist hideout. The Joint Task Force had launched a search operation based on information about the hiding of terrorists. The terrorists were hiding in a cave behind trees on the outskirts of Gadol. The encounter started on the intervening night of last Tuesday and Wednesday, in which four security personnel have been martyred and two terrorists are reported to have been killed. Along with this, on September 13, a joint team of army and Jammu and Kashmir Police security personnel and terrorists started firing in Kokernag area of Anantnag district.
