
The Central and Punjab Government should take stock of the officers and employees of the Punjab Police facing CBI cases - Punjab Police Pensioners Welfare Association.

Giving information about the meeting, the District General Secretary of the Association Daljit Singh Kailon Inspector (Retd) and District Vice President Inspector (Retd) Paramjit Singh Malakpur said that in the meeting, detailed discussions were held about the police officers and employees involved in CBI cases. On this occasion, a resolution was passed demanding that the Punjab and Central Governments should help the retired officers and employees facing CBI cases, because the affected officers and employees are suffering the consequences of the instructions given by the governments of the time and the then senior police officers.
Addressing the meeting, District President Mahendra Singh Inspector (Retd) said that the officers and employees who are being punished by the CBI courts were junior officers and employees at that time. They had done their duty under the instructions given by senior police officers and the government during the terrorism, but now all of them are facing some case or the other. He said that the government is not providing them any kind of help. He said that a delegation from the state unit of the association is going to meet the Governor of Punjab in the coming days. This delegation will also demand from the Governor of Punjab to help the police officers and employees who have been punished in CBI cases.
In another resolution, the retired officers appealed to the Punjab government and the central government that the governments should wholeheartedly help the concerned officers and employees in any old case related to the terrorism era. Among others, GP Singh, Avtar Singh, Satinder Singh (all retired DSPs), Manmohan Singh Kahlon, Rattan Singh Zirakpur, Jaswant Singh, Harbhinder Kumar, Amar Singh Paragpur, Raghveer Singh, Satwinder Singh, Paramjit Singh Malakpur (all retired inspectors) etc. were present in the meeting.
