Nawaan Gaon (S.A.S. Nagar), August 02, 2025: Constituency MLA Kharar Anmol Gagan Mann while giving information said that the Punjab Government has released Rs. 1,89,77,000/- for setting up fire station in Nawan Gaon, which was a great need in this area.
Constituency MLA Anmol Gagan Mann instructed the technical officers to coordinate with the fire department and determine the size (large/small) of the fire station as per the requirement and keeping in mind the norms and indicative drawings of the government, suitable arrangements should also be made for the convenience of the staff (male/female) deployed on duty for day/night as per the prescribed norms.
He said that while preparing the estimate, the norms prescribed for the movement and turning radius of the fire station building, shed etc. of the fire vehicles and NBC norms should be made so that 'effective response' can be given in less time during an emergency. It should be ensured that the necessary technical and administrative approvals are obtained before adopting the tender process for this work.
MLA Mann also instructed the technical officers to immediately seek the grant sanctioned by the government for the said work based on the estimate. He also clarified that if due to any reason the expenditure exceeds the sanctioned grant, the Municipal Council will be bound to bear the additional expenditure from its own funds. He said that efforts should be made to take the said necessary action in a time bound manner so that the residents of the area do not have to face any difficulty due to delay in the work.
