Haryana has become a sports power, Sports University will play an important role - Dr. Arvind Sharma.

Chandigarh, August 2 - Haryana's Minister for Cooperation, Works, Elections, Heritage and Tourism Dr. Arvind Sharma said that today Haryana has emerged as the biggest sports power of the country, because the BJP government under the leadership of Chief Minister Naib Singh has created a good environment for the players and given a new direction to their talent.

Chandigarh, August 2 - Haryana's Minister for Cooperation, Works, Elections, Heritage and Tourism Dr. Arvind Sharma said that today Haryana has emerged as the biggest sports power of the country, because the BJP government under the leadership of Chief Minister Naib Singh has created a good environment for the players and given a new direction to their talent.
He expressed confidence that the Haryana Sports University established in Rai (Sonepat) will make a big contribution to increasing this role of Haryana in the coming time and Haryana will win 36 Olympic medals by the year 2036 Olympics.
Dr. Arvind Sharma was speaking after officially inaugurating the lawn tennis competition at the Sports University campus on the occasion of the opening of the Haryana State Sports Mahakumbh in Rai (Sonepat).
He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini, the future of the state is being prepared through sports with discipline, dedication and strong resolve. This Khel Mahakumbh is not a competition but a celebration of youth power, the state's visionary sports policy and the collective consciousness of the society. After the year 2014, Haryana has shown that whenever it comes to sports, the small state of Haryana comes forward with big thinking and unwavering resolve.
Dr. Arvind Sharma said that in the last one and a half decades, Haryana's players have brought glory to the state and the country in every Olympics. Out of the country's 6 medals in the Olympics held in the year 2025, 5 medals were won by Haryana players.
Today, the Haryana government is giving Rs 2.5 crore to the gold medal winner in the Olympics and Paralympics and Rs 15 lakh to each participating player. He said that today Haryana's sports policy is being seen as an ideal model throughout the country.
