
Four Proclaimed Offenders Arrested by Chandigarh Police
Chandigarh, July 31, 2025 — In a significant breakthrough, the PO & Summon staff of Chandigarh Police has successfully arrested four proclaimed offenders (POs), including one in a case under the Negotiable Instruments Act. These arrests were made under the directions of SSP U.T. Chandigarh, with the operation being supervised by Sh. Vijay Singh, Dy. SP, DCC, and executed by a team led by Sh. Sher Singh, Inspector/Incharge, PO & Summon staff.
Chandigarh, July 31, 2025 — In a significant breakthrough, the PO & Summon staff of Chandigarh Police has successfully arrested four proclaimed offenders (POs), including one in a case under the Negotiable Instruments Act. These arrests were made under the directions of SSP U.T. Chandigarh, with the operation being supervised by Sh. Vijay Singh, Dy. SP, DCC, and executed by a team led by Sh. Sher Singh, Inspector/Incharge, PO & Summon staff.
Three of the arrested individuals were wanted in state cases. The first, Pankaj alias Billa, son of Ashok Kumar and resident of House No. 2723, Sector 56, Chandigarh, was arrested in connection with FIR No. 87 dated May 15, 2023, under Sections 61/1/14 of the Excise Act. He had been declared a proclaimed offender by the court of Dr. Ambika Sharma, JMIC, Chandigarh, on June 9, 2025, and was produced before the Hon’ble Court of Dr. Parkshit, JMIC, Chandigarh, where he was remanded to judicial custody.
The second, Dhanus alias Totla, son of Kathiravel and resident of House No. 1060 A, EWS Colony, Dhanas, Chandigarh, was wanted in FIR No. 112 of 2021 under Sections 397, 506, 34, and 411 of the IPC, registered at Police Station IA, Chandigarh. He had been declared a proclaimed offender by the court of Ms. Sonika (ASJ), Chandigarh, on July 5, 2025. Following his arrest, he was presented before the same court and remanded to judicial custody.
The third offender, Aful Clement, son of Aful and resident of 812 RZG, Raj Nagar Part 2, Palam, Delhi, had been evading arrest in FIR No. 25 of 2022 under Sections 419, 420, and 120-B of the IPC, registered at Police Station MM, Chandigarh. She had been declared a proclaimed offender by the court of Dr. Ambika Sharma, JMIC, Chandigarh, on March 28, 2025. After being apprehended, she was presented before the same court and sent to judicial custody.
In a separate case under the Negotiable Instruments Act, one accused, Sanjeev Kumar, son of Maan Singh and resident of VPO Bhatauli Kalan, Tehsil Baddi, District Solan, was arrested in connection with case number NACT/3415/2021 under Section 138 of the NI Act. He was produced before the Hon’ble Court of Dr. Parkshit (duty), JMIC, Chandigarh, and was subsequently released on bail.
These arrests mark a notable achievement for Chandigarh Police in its continued efforts to bring absconders to justice and ensure the execution of court orders.
