Zirakpur (S.A.S. Nagar) July 24, 2025: MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa of Dera Bassi Assembly Constituency has started Nasha Mukti Yatra in various wards of Zirakpur to make Dera Bassi Assembly Constituency drug free under Nasha Mukti Abhiyan. After villages, Nasha Mukti Abhiyan is now going on in the wards of cities as well. In this series, Nasha Mukti Yatras were taken out in Ward No. 1 to 4 of Zirakpur, Ram Leela Ground, Peer Baba Road, Baltana and Ward No. 27 to 30 of Zirakpur, Near Community Center, Gugga Madi, Bhabat, Zirakpur.
Addressing the gathering during the Nasha Ke Viruddh Yatra, people were informed about the ill effects of drugs and people were administered the oath to eradicate drug addiction. MLA Randhawa urged Chief Minister S. Describing the 'War against Drugs' campaign being run by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Bhagwant Singh Mann as the government's commitment to the people.
He said that the campaign launched by the Chief Minister to make Punjab 100 percent drug free has yielded fruitful results so far and the way this campaign is being run successfully in all the rural and urban areas of Punjab, it is expected that within the stipulated time frame Punjab will become drug free and a milestone will be achieved.
He appealed to the people that if any citizen has concrete information about any drug smuggler, then he can inform him or the police about it and the name and address of the informer in this regard will be kept completely confidential.
