
Modern Group of Colleges celebrates 79th Independence Day and Shri Krishna Janmashtami with grand cultural programme.
Mukerian – The campus of Modern Group of Colleges, Pandori Bhagat, Mukerian was awash with the colours of patriotism and devotion as the institution celebrated the 79th Independence Day as well as the auspicious festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami. The grand cultural programme showcased the talent of the students reflecting the spirit of nationalism and the cultural heritage of India.
Mukerian – The campus of Modern Group of Colleges, Pandori Bhagat, Mukerian was awash with the colours of patriotism and devotion as the institution celebrated the 79th Independence Day as well as the auspicious festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami. The grand cultural programme showcased the talent of the students reflecting the spirit of nationalism and the cultural heritage of India.
The event was graced by the august presence of Managing Director Dr. Arshdeep Singh, Director Administration Mrs. Deepinder Kaur, Principal Dr. Jatinder Kumar, Campus Director Dr. Vijayta Sharma, Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering Dr. Ranjit Singh, Associate Dean Mr. Sukhjinder Singh and Director Admissions Mr. Parvinder Singh. Their encouraging and motivational words motivated both the students and the teachers.
The programme commenced with a heartfelt tribute to the nation, highlighting the sacrifices of the freedom fighters. The college students presented patriotic songs, group dances and dramatic plays depicting India's journey to independence and its achievements in the modern era. These performances instilled deep feelings of pride and unity in the audience.
Subsequently, the function turned into a festive atmosphere of Shri Krishna Janmashtami where the students presented classical dances, bhajans and a mesmerizing Raas-leela depicting the divine childhood of Lord Krishna. Lively performances and devotional music created a spiritual atmosphere while the Dahi-Handi event filled the attendees with enthusiasm and excitement.
In his address, Dr. Arshdeep Singh appreciated the dedication of the students and emphasized the importance of combining academic development with cultural and moral values. Mrs. Deepinder Kaur also congratulated the students and teachers for organizing a meaningful and memorable event that strengthens the bonds of unity and cultural pride.
Adding to the grandeur of the event, many faculty members also graced the event with their gracious presence including Dr. Anu Bala, Dr. Kamal Kishore, Mr. Tanvir Singh, Mr. Jaspreet Singh, Mrs. Nikita, Kumari Saloni, Kumari Tanmeet Kaur, Kumari Navneet Kaur, Kumari Simranjit Kaur, Mrs. Sonali, Kumari Parveen Kumari, Kumari Pallavi and Mrs. Simranjit Kaur. Their support and encouragement further added to the festive spirit.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks to all the dignitaries, faculty members and students followed by the melodious singing of the National Anthem which overwhelmed the audience with patriotic fervour and spiritual devotion.
The day at Modern Group of Colleges was truly a testimony to the blending of national pride and cultural traditions which made the event unforgettable for all those present.
