Una, July 1- Una district is moving towards another historic achievement in the field of sports infrastructure. A synthetic athletics track will be constructed at Roda village of Haroli assembly constituency at a cost of Rs 9.97 crore, which has received the approval of the Central Government. This track will provide a strong platform for the youth of not only Una district but also the surrounding districts to get training in a scientific way and hone their talent.

New dimension to the expansion of sports infrastructure in Una-
Una already has the facility of modern sports training through the hostel run by the Youth Services and Sports Department. Now with the construction of this synthetic track, players who want to make a career in athletics will get a high quality practice ground, which will prepare them for competition at the state, national and international level.

The players here have made the district and the state proud by performing remarkably at the state, national and international level in fields like hockey, kabaddi and para athletics. Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that sports infrastructure is being continuously developed in Una district and the talents here are constantly bringing glory to the district on national and international platforms. He said that through sports, work is being done to keep the youth away from evils like drug addiction and give them a positive direction.

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said that Una has created its own identity in the field of sports and the state government is fully committed to providing scientific coaching and modern sports facilities to further strengthen this identity.
He said that the synthetic track to be built in Roda will prove to be a milestone in honing young talents as well as getting them recognition at the state, national and international level. Besides, this effort will also prove helpful in keeping the youth away from social evils like drug addiction.
