Hoshiarpur- Chairman of Punjab State Safai Karamchari Commission Chandan Grewal said that Safai Karamcharis are the backbone of the society and it is the responsibility of the administration to provide them with a respectable life and essential facilities.
He was addressing an important meeting with Municipal Corporation officials and representatives of Safai Karamchari Union at District Administrative Complex Hoshiarpur today. On this occasion, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dr. Amandeep Kaur, officials of Municipal Corporation and Municipal Councils and representatives of the union were also present.
Chairman Chandan Grewal, while addressing the meeting, said that the objective of today's meeting is to listen to the problems of Safai Karamcharis directly, resolve them and review the schemes related to their welfare.
Talking to journalists after the meeting, Chairman Grewal said that many problems were resolved on the spot. Along with this, there are some demands which are of the state level, which will be placed before the Chief Minister of Punjab, so that they can also be resolved as soon as possible.
He directed the officials to ensure that Safai Karamcharis are paid their salaries on time, provided safety equipment and required training. He stressed that it should be ensured that no employee feels neglected. Chandan Grewal said that the role of Safai Karamcharis in the society is very important and their contribution should be recognized not just in words but through concrete actions.
He also made it clear that the government is fully committed to the welfare of the employees and the Commission is actively working in this direction. At the end of the meeting, he assured the Safai Karamcharis present that all their problems would be resolved on priority basis.
