Una, June 19- Under the Chief Minister Sukh Ashray Yojana in Una district, assistance of more than Rs 3.11 crore has been provided to 294 beneficiary children in various items related to social security and self-reliance. Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal gave this information while presiding over the District Child Welfare and Protection Committee on Thursday.

Una, June 19- Under the Chief Minister Sukh Ashray Yojana in Una district, assistance of more than Rs 3.11 crore has been provided to 294 beneficiary children in various items related to social security and self-reliance. Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal gave this information while presiding over the District Child Welfare and Protection Committee on Thursday.
He informed that under the scheme, Rs 1 crore 30 lakh 43 thousand 909 has been provided to the beneficiaries as social security amount till March 31, 2025. At the same time, under the scheme, an amount of Rs 1 crore 80 lakh 68 thousand 550 has been provided in 78 cases till May 31 this year to assist in education, skill development, self-employment and self-reliance of beneficiary children in the district. Apart from this, in the financial year 2024-25, Rs 40.80 lakh has been provided to the beneficiaries in 173 cases under the sponsor scheme and after care scheme under Mission Vatsalya.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officials to take full care of the safety and convenience of the children living in the special home. In the meeting, the work done in the direction of child welfare and protection in the district was reviewed.

The government became the support of the destitute-
Jatin Lal said that the state government has taken the responsibility of taking care of orphan children till the age of 27 through the Chief Minister Sukh Aashray Yojana. The government has now expanded the scheme and covered more needy sections in it. In this, along with orphan children, abandoned or surrendered children and single women are also eligible to get assistance. The family income of the beneficiary should not exceed five lakh rupees annually from all sources and the beneficiary or any member of his family should not be in government service.

44 cases received on Child Helpline-
The Deputy Commissioner said that in the 4-month period from January to April, a total of 44 cases were received on Child Helpline numbers 1098 and 112 in the district, on which immediate action was taken. According to the data of Child Helpline, 8 cases related to child abuse (mental, emotional, violent) were registered, while 12 cases of child family-related harassment came to light. Apart from this, 4 complaints of child begging, 10 complaints were received in cases like missing children, human trafficking, cyber crime, children deprived of education, emotional support and child labor. 10 cases were received under other category.
In the meeting, Secretary of District Legal Services Authority Anita Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Varindra Sharma, DSP Headquarters Ajay Thakur, CWC Chairperson Meenakshi Rana, District Program Officer Child Development Project Narendra Kumar, District Child Protection Officer Kamaldeep, BDO KL Verma and other government and non-government members gave valuable suggestions regarding systemic reforms for child protection and welfare.
