The Deputy Commissioner said that the duties of officials and staff have been imposed for smooth procurement of wheat in the markets. Availability of tarpaulins as per requirement including bardana, seating for farmers, laborers etc. along with drinking water, toilets, shade and other basic needs have also been ensured. He said that during the ongoing season, any kind of dereliction of duty will not be tolerated.
The Deputy Commissioner said that till now 3595 metric tons of wheat has arrived in the grain markets of the district. Out of which 3213 metric tons of wheat has been purchased by various procurement agencies. He has instructed the officials of procurement agencies to speed up the process of lifting wheat from the district markets.
He appealed to the farmers to dry their crops and bring them to the mandis so that they do not have to stay in the markets while selling the crops. On this occasion, he also checked the moisture and weight of wheat and interacted with the farmers. He instructed the officials not to let the farmers face any kind of difficulty in the markets.
