Ahmedabad, June 13- Efforts are on to find the ‘black box’ of Air India flight AI 171 that crashed in Ahmedabad. Only after analysing it can important clues be found about the cause of the disaster. Ahmedabad Fire Brigade officials said that a team with specialist equipment such as metal cutters has been deployed at the accident site to search for the ‘black box’ in the debris.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Kanan Desai said that the work of finding the ‘black box’ is going on. He clarified that no digital video recorder of the plane has been found.
Sources said that the DVR (digital video recorder) of the CCTV cameras of the BJ Medical College hostel, where the plane crashed, has been taken into custody by the police. Fire department officials said they have been asked to help locate the plane's 'black box'. Deputy Chief Fire Officer Dhurmit Gandhi said, "Our team is assisting the forensic and civil aviation experts." The 'black box' is a small device that records information about the plane during flight. It helps in the investigation of aviation accidents.
