Paigam-E-Jagat/Maur Mandi August 18- Constituency MLA Sukhvir Singh Maisarkhana inaugurated the sewerage system that has been stalled for almost two years today with his kar kamalas. On this occasion, he said that Maur residents were struggling with sewerage problem for a long time and today fulfilling the promise made to them, the work of sewerage pipeline has been completed at a cost of Rs. 23 crore 91 lakh.
And from next month, the work of replacing about 36 km of damaged sewerage pipes of the city through a project of Rs. 21 crore 90 lakh will be started soon. Apart from this, clean drinking water will be arranged by bringing water from canals and filling them in dugis.
Tenders have been floated for the work of damaged roads of the city and the work of roads will also start soon. A project worth about Rs 17 crore for the drainage of the city's sewage water has been prepared, approved and sent to the government. The previous STP plant was small, so its capacity was low and the water was not fully drained. This work will also be completed soon after getting approval from the government.
About Rs 54 crore has been received for the development works of Maur constituency. He further said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is committed to the promises made to the people. He has appealed to the people to support the government.
