Chandigarh- Shopkeepers of Chandigarh's biggest motor market including Punjab, Haryana and Himachal staged a sit-in protest against Chandigarh Municipal Corporation in Manimajra. A few days ago, Chandigarh administration had closed shops in Manimajra.
Mechanic Welfare Association President Baghel Singh, who was sitting on the sit-in protest, said that he has been sitting in this market for many years and is taking care of his family by working here. The administration has now removed their shops because now people have illegally occupied shops at many places, due to which long queues were formed in the entire Manimajra, due to which the administration had to take this step. Work has been stopped for many days.
Baghel Singh has demanded from the administration that those who have been managing the shops for a long time should not be evicted, they should be registered and reasonable fees should be deposited from them so that they can also support their families and their livelihood should not be snatched away.
