New Delhi, May 19 - Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri will brief the Parliamentary Committee today on the military standoff between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack. According to sources, Misri will appear before the Parliamentary Committee at around 4 pm.
The meeting is taking place in the backdrop of Operation Sindoor, launched by the Indian armed forces in retaliation for the Pahalgam attack, and the subsequent military standoff between the two countries. India and Pakistan had agreed to a ceasefire on May 10, ending the military standoff.
Misri will brief the Committee, headed by Congress member Shashi Tharoor, on 'current foreign policy developments in relation to India and Pakistan' on Monday and Tuesday. The committee on water resources, headed by BJP's Rajiv Pratap Rudy, is to be briefed by officials of various government departments on issues like flood situation, protection of river banks, soil erosion, relief measures during monsoon, including rivers flowing across the border. The government has decided to send all-party delegations to 33 countries to apprise world leaders about India's resolve to tackle terrorism with strength in the wake of Operation Sindoor.
