Moga, May 18 - A video of three youths in Nihang attire clashing with police personnel outside a hotel here on Kotkapura bypass late last evening is going viral. In the viral video, the police and the Nihangs are having a heated argument. The city police claim that the accused were pressuring the hotel owner to pay a ransom.
DSP City Ravinder Singh and Police Station Head Inspector Gurpreet Singh said that the three accused have been arrested, who have been identified as Jagraj Singh of village Jalalabad Purbi, Sher Singh alias Manmohan Singh of Kothe Sher Jang, Jagraon and Kulwinder Singh of village Safipur of Police Station Sidhwan Bet, Jagraon.
According to the police, a case has been registered on the statement of Sumit Kumar of Moga. According to the complainant, his friend Sajan has taken a hotel on lease on Kotkapura bypass. He had gone to his friend. Meanwhile, the accused who came in a Mahindra XUV vehicle demanded money and started a fight. During this, the accused snatched his revolver.
On receiving information, the police reached the spot and tried to arrest the accused, but they got into a fight with the police and waved swords in the air. The police arrested the accused with great difficulty. The police claimed that the accused admitted during interrogation that they were also involved in extortion by threatening other shopkeepers. The video of the scuffle between the accused and the police is rapidly going viral on social media.
