Hoshiarpur- As per the instructions of Punjab State Election Commission, a programme for revision of voter lists has been issued for those Gram Panchayats in Hoshiarpur district where by-elections of Sarpanchs/Panchs are pending, under which instructions have been given to complete the revision work by 23rd May.
District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain informed that all SDMs and BDPOs have been issued necessary instructions in this regard.
According to the revision programme issued, it has been said that a special campaign should be run on 19th, 20th and 21st May for revision of voter lists, so that new votes can be created or deleted in those villages or wards for which by-elections are to be held for Panchayats or Panchs.
It has also been clarified that the revision work of voter lists is to be done only for those Gram Panchayats or wards of villages where by-elections are to be held.
The District Election Officer said that in the villages or wards where by-elections are to be held for Sarpanch and Panch, the concerned people can get the voter list amended by coordinating with their SDM-cum-ERO office.
