SAS Nagar, May 14- Mohali Municipal Corporation Mayor Amarjeet Singh Jeeti Sidhu today initiated the work of laying premix on roads in Wards 20 and 21 of Phase 11. He stated that 35 lakh rupees are being spent on this work, and the premix is being laid because these roads were in dire need of repair. He added that after the premix is laid, the appearance of these roads will transform. On this occasion, Mohali Municipal Corporation’s Senior Deputy Mayor Amrik Singh Somal was present with him.
Regarding the issue of rainwater drainage in Phase 11, Mayor Jeeti Sidhu said that a pipeline is being laid at a cost of two crore rupees to address this problem, which will resolve the issue. He noted that the area faced severe flooding during the rainy season, and residents were afraid to sleep at night, fearing that water might enter their homes and cause damage.
He said that the pipeline is being laid from the petrol pump to the temple and from the temple to Jagatpura. He added that a comprehensive plan has been prepared to protect Phase 11 from rainwater flooding, and the water from this entire area will be drained into the stream behind Baba White House.
He further stated that, along with complete arrangements for this, the issue of sewerage water overflow is also being addressed. He assured the residents that, even if private assistance is required, this time the residents will not face the brunt of rainwater flooding.
He mentioned that the Congress Party has opened an office in this area so that any issues faced by the residents can be resolved promptly. He said that the people of this area have been connected to him like family for 35 years, and it is his duty to resolve their every small and big problem, ensuring no shortcomings in this regard.
