Burhanpur, March 19- Tension prevailed in Burhanpur town of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday night over an objectionable post on social media. Following which the police took the accused into custody.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Devendra Patidar told reporters that after the post, which contained content that hurt religious sentiments, went viral, a large number of people from a community gathered and protested. He said that the police pacified and dispersed them. An FIR was registered in this regard around 10 pm.
Patidar said that people have been advised to stay away from such objectionable posts. The accused has been taken into custody and further investigation is underway, he said, adding that the situation is under control.
