Hoshiarpur- Civil Defence preparations in the district were reviewed today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain. During this, the Deputy Commissioner gave necessary guidelines to the concerned officers and asked them to remain fully alert during any emergency.
During this, he said that detailed orders have been issued regarding Civil Defence and duties of various officers have been assigned and reports are being continuously taken from the Sub-Divisional Magistrates of all the sub-divisions of the district. The Deputy Commissioner said that the situation in Hoshiarpur district is completely normal, yet normal preparations are being carried out. He said that the district administration is constantly coordinating with the Air Force and the Army.
Giving special information, he said that if anyone finds any suspicious or unknown object in any locality, village or city, they should not go near it nor try to tamper with it, but inform the nearest police station or civil administration, so that the Army or Air Force can be sent to recover the object after forensic examination. He assured the district residents that the situation in the district is completely normal and there is no need to panic in any way. He informed that the district administration has set up a 24-hour district level control room, whose number is 01882-220412.
He said that the district residents can contact this control room for any kind of information. During this, he appealed to the district residents to be completely alert towards misleading rumours and ensure strict compliance of the advisory issued by the government from time to time in public interest. He said that if any mischievous element is found spreading rumours, strict legal action will be taken against him. Additional Deputy Commissioner Nikas Kumar, Assistant Commissioner (under training) Oshi Mandal, SDM Hoshiarpur Sanjeev Kumar, SDM Tanda Parampreet Singh, SP Navneet Kaur Gill, DSP Manpreet Singh and Civil Defence officers were present on the occasion.
