It is worth noting that India, in a bold and calculated move, carried out precision missile strikes on 9 terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in the wee hours of Wednesday. The strikes, under Operation Sindoor, were carried out in retaliation for the terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 innocent tourists. The main objective of these airstrikes was to destroy the infrastructure of terror groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, which are mainly responsible for cross-border attacks.
Immediately after Wednesday's attacks, India informed several world leaders about the operation and said it was ready to "resolutely respond" if the neighbouring country further escalates the situation.
National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval has held talks with NSAs of several countries, including his US counterpart and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, UK NSA Jonathan Powell, Saudi Arabia's NSA Musaid Al Aban, UAE counterpart Sheikh Tahnoon, UAE NSC Secretary General Ali Al Shamsi and Japan's NSA Masataka Okano. Doval also established contact with his Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and French President's diplomatic advisor Emmanuel Bonnet.
