On this occasion, Chief Medical Officer Sanjeev Verma in his motivational speech made the participants aware of the increasing need for hospital safety and disaster management. He said that in the present era of climate change and industrial development, the frequency of natural and man-made disasters is increasing, in such a situation every government and private health institution should prepare an effective disaster management plan.
Dr. Verma said that major emergency telephone numbers should be clearly displayed in every institution and at least two to three mock drills should be organized in a year, so that quick and coordinated response can be ensured in emergency situations. He described the role of doctors in industrial disasters as important and emphasized that doctors should provide medical assistance to the affected people while ensuring their own safety.
During this, Dr Sanjeev Verma provided certificates to the participants who attended the training and directed that all the institutions should prepare their hospital disaster management plan by May 30, 2025 and send it to the office of District Disaster Management Authority, Una. He said that this initiative would prove helpful in ensuring the safety of hospitals and efficiently conducting search and rescue operations in emergency situations.
On this occasion, Medical Superintendent, Regional Hospital Una Dr Sanjay Mankotia along with medical officers, staff nurses, paramedical staff and representatives of private institutions from various health institutions of the district were present.
