Nawanshahr- As per the guidelines of Deputy Commissioner, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Ankurjit Singh and instructions of District Sports Officer Vandana Chauhan, an awareness camp was organized and a rally was taken out at village Nangal Jattan under the 'War on Drugs' campaign under the leadership of Football Coach Gurpreet Singh with the support of Assistant Director Youth Services Department Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar.
Coach Gurpreet Singh said that under this awareness camp, a football match was organized to connect the youth with the ground and keep them away from drugs. The match between Nangal Jattan Football Club Red and Nangal Jattan Football Club Blue ended in a draw with 2-2 goals.
On this occasion, refreshments were also given to the players of both the teams. District Sports Officer Vandana Chauhan said that the District Sports Department will make every possible effort to keep the youth away from drugs and will continue to organize such awareness camps and football matches against drugs.
He said that with this, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district will be drug free and the dreams of our martyrs will come true. Avtar Singh, Harnek Singh, Navjot Bhatti, Naresh Bains, Hardeep Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Balwant Ram, Amanvir Singh, Jaskaran Singh were present on this occasion.
