
Full details of tenants and servants must be given to the district and police administration
Nawanshahr- District Magistrate Ankurjit Singh, exercising the powers vested in him under Section 163 of the Indian Citizen Safety Code, 2023, has issued an order that if any person residing within the jurisdiction of the Municipal Council, Nagar Panchayats and Village Panchayats of the district keeps a tenant/servant/paying guest/Nepali Langri in his house/hotel/restaurant, he shall be bound to give his information within one week at dc_nawanshahr@rediffmail.com and dpo.nsr.police@punjab.gov.in. He said that the landlords who have not yet given the information of the tenants to the police, they should give the information of the tenant (name, father's name, photo and Aadhaar card) on the said e-mail within one week from the date of issuance of this order.

He said that the tenants/servants/paying guests etc. kept by the landlords are sometimes from drug, anti-social and criminal backgrounds and keep making noise in the rented houses and public places, due to which there is a fear of deteriorating law and order situation, but the landlords do not register the information of these tenants with the police in time. The said order has been implemented to prevent such incidents. This order will be in force till June 24, 2025.
