S. Chaman Singh (Project Director), while discussing the subject of war against drugs, said that the whole of India, including Punjab, has come under the grip of drugs, for which the Punjab government has launched a campaign against drugs. Government and non-government organizations in Punjab are working to make the country drug-free, but more work needs to be done.
Let us start eliminating drugs from our homes. He told the students about the ill effects of drugs and said that you can achieve your set goal by staying away from drugs. He appealed to the students that you can make this campaign successful by contributing to it.
He shared many points about identifying drug addicts and said that drug addicted youth are suffering physically, mentally and financially. Families are also breaking up socially. So if you want to fulfill your dreams in life, then keep yourself healthy, make them aware to be successful in life and tell them that many problems will come in life. But drug addiction is not the solution to any problem.
He also told the students how they come in contact with adults and fall into the trap of drug addiction. Mrs. Kamaljit Kaur (Counselor) also shared detailed information about the treatment of patients that any drug addict can get free treatment by staying in the hospital for one month as per his wish, because drug addiction cannot be quit by staying at home, it is necessary to reach psychiatrists and drug rehabilitation centers to quit drug addiction.
On this occasion, Mrs. Aarti Saini (Teacher) addressed the students about the ill effects of drug addiction. He thanked the Red Cross team and assured that they will continue to organize anti-drug awareness camps in future as well. On this occasion, Dr. Bikramjit Singh and Dr. Shuminder Kaur (Primary Health Center Paldi) conducted medical checkup of the school students.
While giving information about drug abuse to the students, Dr. Bikramjit Singh said that you should not get misled by any stranger and should not consume any kind of drug, because at this age children do not know anything about drugs. He asked the students to stay away from drugs. School teachers and students were present on this occasion.
