Mr. Rana said about his recent visit to France and the Netherlands that information was obtained about the latest technologies and markets related to agricultural products, especially potato and floriculture. The potato conference organized in the Netherlands helped in understanding how potato is produced and exported in Europe. Also, taking inspiration from floriculture, which is a strong base of the economy of Europe, there is a plan to promote this sector in Haryana as well.

He said that the state government is setting up the country's largest horticultural market in Ganaur town of Sonipat district. So far, 54 acres of land has been reserved. The total estimated cost of this project is Rs 2595 crore and about 45 percent of the construction work has been completed so far. This international market will have a capacity to handle 20 lakh tonnes of produce annually. It will have parking facilities for 14907 cars and 3305 trucks and trolleys. The Agriculture Minister said that the experiences gained from foreign visits will be used to further strengthen the markets of Haryana. He said that our state has some of the largest markets in Asia. By expanding this, we will attract more traders, which will facilitate the farmers in selling their produce. In particular, the largest flower market and organic produce market are being set up in Gurugram, which will provide better opportunities to the farmers to sell their produce.
