
MLA Bram Shankar Jimpa launches fogging in the city
Hoshiarpur- To prevent mosquito-borne diseases including dengue, malaria and chikungunya, MLA Bram Shankar Jimpa launched fogging in the city. He flagged off the fogging vehicles of the Municipal Corporation from the local Bulawadi Chowk.

MLA Bram Shankar Jimpa said that the Municipal Corporation is making advance arrangements to prevent the outbreak of mosquitoes so that people can be protected from diseases. He directed the Municipal Corporation officials to ensure fogging in all 50 wards of the city and that no ward, street or locality remains deprived of fogging.
Appealing to the people to contribute in keeping the city clean to protect it from mosquito-borne diseases, MLA Jimpa said that it is the duty of every citizen to keep the city clean and hygienic. He appealed to the people not to use plastic bags and single-use plastic items as they are a major cause of sewer blockage, which increases the risk of mosquito breeding due to stagnant sewage water in the streets. He also appealed to the people to take regular cleaning and other precautions including not allowing water to accumulate in and around their homes so that the breeding of mosquitoes can be prevented. The MLA also asked the shopkeepers to fulfill their responsibility and refrain from using plastic bags. He said that in view of the upcoming rainy season, the Punjab government has already started cleaning the drains. Apart from this, concrete efforts are also being made to make the cities free from garbage. On this occasion, Mayor Surinder Kumar, Senior Deputy Mayor Praveen Shaini, Deputy Mayor Ranjit Chaudhary, besides local personalities and administrative officials were also present.
