But this time, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema has won the hearts of the people by including 65 lakh families of Punjab under the health insurance scheme. This was revealed by Lalit Mohan Ballu, Vice President of Punjab State Board of Technical Education, while reacting to the presentation of the budget.
He said that people not only of Punjab but the whole country are demanding free medical facilities and the Punjab government has fulfilled this demand. The budget of Punjab has been much higher than the budget of previous governments and announcements are being made in the interests of the people every day.
He said that just as the people of Punjab are being given 300 units of free electricity without any discrimination, in the same way a health insurance scheme will be started for the people of Punjab. Not only this, a budget of Rs 18 thousand crore has also been kept for building schools and playgrounds in every village under sports.
