
Awareness camp organized at ISBT bus stand under Clean City-Prosperous City Campaign
Una, February 20- Under the Clean City-Prosperous City Campaign, Municipal Corporation Una organized an awareness camp at the city's bulk waste generators - Inter-State Bus Terminal Una on Thursday. The camp was chaired by HRTC Regional Manager Suresh Dhiman. During this, apart from the officials, employees of Himachal Road Transport Department and operators of ISBT, local shopkeepers and sanitation workers were present.

Social Development Expert Manoj Sharma from Municipal Corporation gave detailed information about Clean City - Prosperous City Campaign. He said that solid waste management is to ensure proper waste segregation at source, use designated collection points at bus stands and depots and promote responsible waste disposal practices by educating drivers and employees, align with comprehensive guidelines on solid waste management and ensure source segregation and community participation, as well as gave detailed information about wet and dry and hazardous waste.
He told that cleanliness should be included in our daily routine and dry waste should be put in blue, wet waste in green and hazardous waste in red dustbin and they should be given separately to the cleaning staff. Apart from this, he also made people aware about not reusing polythene used once and not burning it or throwing it here and there.
Regional Manager Una Suresh Dhiman said that if wet, dry and hazardous waste is disposed of properly, then our city will not only be clean and beautiful but many diseases can also be avoided. We have to ensure that wet and dry waste is given separately to the cleaning staff at the bus stand Una. Apart from this, he said that the staff will be made aware about promoting responsible waste disposal practices and efforts will be made that passengers do not throw garbage here and there during the journey.
Municipal Corporation's cleaning supervisor Vijay Kumar and manager Pravesh Sharma were present in this program.
