Una, 26 March - Chaitra Navratri Mela will be organized in Mata Shri Chintapurni Temple from 30 March to 6 April. This information was given by SDM Amb Sachin Sharma while presiding over the meeting held in the auditorium of Baba Shri Maidas Sadan for the successful organization of Chaiv Navratri Mela.
He informed that SDM Amb will be the Mela Officer, while DSP Amb has been appointed as the Police Mela Officer. To maintain law and order during the fair, the Mela area will be divided into four sectors in which police and home guard jawans will be deployed. During the fair, CCTV cameras will be properly used in the temple and fair premises so that unpleasant incidents caused by anti-social elements can be prevented. The SDM directed the temple officer to ensure inspection of CCTV cameras.
Sachin Sharma informed that to ensure emergency medical facilities to the devotees during the fair, 24-hour services will be provided in Chintapurni Hospital. For this, the Block Medical Officer Amb will be the Mela Medical Officer. Apart from this, one additional medical post will also be set up by the Health Department and the Ayurveda Department where treatment will be provided to the devotees as per their need.
He directed the Jal Shakti Department to ensure cleanliness of drinking water sources and proper drinking water supply to provide clean and pure drinking water to the devotees during the fair. He also directed to chlorinate all the drinking water sources. He also directed the Electricity Department to conduct all necessary inspections for smooth power supply so that the fair can be conducted properly.
The SDM said that in view of the safety of the devotees, there will be a complete ban on carrying coconuts to the temple during the fair period. Coconuts will be collected from the pilgrims in the line at the place of DFMD before the main gate of the temple. He said that for the convenience of the devotees coming to Mata Shri Chintapurni Temple, it will also be ensured that sign boards are installed at various places.
He said that it is mandatory to take permission from the Langar Committee to set up langar during the fair. A fee of Rs 10,000 has been fixed for this. Apart from this, the langar organizers will have to follow all the rules prescribed by the langar committee including cleanliness and road safety, otherwise the permits issued to them for the langar can be cancelled. The langar will be organized at a fixed distance from the road so that the devotees do not face any inconvenience in movement and traffic.
The SDM said that there will be a complete ban on begging at Mata Shri Chintapurni. To prevent this, police and home guard personnel will keep a strict watch. He instructed the fire department to make the fire fighting equipment fully functional before the fair to prevent incidents of arson. In the meeting, traffic management, electricity system, parking system, living arrangements for the officers and employees posted on duty, as well as cleanliness arrangements were also discussed in detail.
